On July 8, La Loma Projects will debut Microgreens, a show of small-scale landscapes. Here, in painting, ceramics, and mixed media, are views that fit in your pocket, squints at the sun. JP Munro builds up thickly surfaced, mysterious, semi-religious scenes of nature on compact linen blocks. Malisa Humphrey’s tiny models collapse historical landscape wallpapers on a bed of soil. Laura Vahlberg’s moody forests are cerebral, brief encounters with infinity, several inches wide. Other artists in Microgreens include Stephanie Guerrero, Bradney Lane, Brian Lotti, Emily Marchand, and Sarah Ippolito.
