Swiss-born, Los Angeles-based artist Jude Pauli studied at Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, CA and Otis College of Art and Design, Los Angeles CA. Engaging balance, humor, and chance—she reframes both the sculptural field and painted surface with a dynamic interplay between figuration and abstraction.

Seemingly weightless, Jude's ethereal sculptures have the effect of immaterial volumes and are constructed by intricate combinations of the earth’s naturally occurring clay deposits, stoneware and steel. Simultaneously treating light as an essential physical property, she defines her solid form and utilizes open, in-between spaces within her structures to engage the viewer with the surrounding environment.
